It’s time to #RaiseTheGame

We pledge to inspire change across our products, team and methods to promote equality, diversity and inclusivity.

#RaiseTheGame is a social movement by UKIE to foster inclusion and diversity across the UK games industry. It aims to promote good practice of equality and inclusion across companies, and encourage other teams to join in and make the pledge to make a healthier working environment. It is a commitment to improving the workplaces both of today and tomorrow.

The most important part of #RaiseTheGame is accountability – which is why we are, and will continue to be completely transparent about our stance and what we are doing to make positive change for both our team, and the UK games industry as a whole.

We pledge…

Fairer, more open hiring practices – Safer working environments – Open dialogue for important issues – Transparency at all levels – Opportunities extended to non-traditional backgrounds – Flatter architectures to management architectures – Support for non-binary and trans people both inside and outside the workplace –

Change requires action

What we've already done to #RaiseTheGame

We were built from the ground up to be an inclusive studio. Here is a list of things we’ve already done to foster diversity and promote a healthier work environment:

  • Transparent hiring – we publish salary ranges publicly, to ensure people only spend time on roles that fit their financial needs.
  • Open dialogue – anyone from any role in any seniority can voice concerns and suggestions about both our products and practices without fear of repercussions.
  • Disadvantaged people – are encouraged to apply for roles, and we support them wherever possible with any additional training and other requirements
  • Flexible working hours – to support people with children and chronically ill or disadvantaged people, that need work broken up into more manageable chunks.
  • Health driven – you do your best work when healthy and feeling good. We encourage regular fitness and health dialogue, as well as supporting one another to make positive change. Health comes before work.
  • Time off for action – campaigning for change across the industry and country requires enablement across the spectrum. Employees can request paid time off to represent and support themselves at parades and rallies for important and positive social causes.
  • Inclusion in our titles – we are allowing players to represent themselves in our games by creating a variety of character customization options with options for ethnicity, masculine or feminine bodies and voices.
  • Gender neutral language – in our titles, job posts and day to day conversations with consumers, to prevent passive exclusion and microaggressions from misgendering.
  • Used the KickStart scheme – to give talented and hardworking individuals currently on Universal Credit the ability to join the team to work and learn on large, dynamic projects, with regular daily reviews and positive actionable feedback.

We are always working to improve our approach and encourage a positive working environment.
